HONORABLE MENTION

Alumnos Ciudadanos (Student Citizens) is an initiative by ASDRA that subverts the traditional role of disability: here, young people with Down syndrome are not recipients of help, but expert educators. Child Development in the Family (DIF) Program by Haciendo Camino

The DIF Program is part of the Civil Association Haciendo Camino, which has been working since 2006 to improve the quality of life for families in situations of social vulnerability in Northern Argentina. The programs are primarily aimed at ensuring proper nutrition and the comprehensive development of children aged 0 to 5; accompanying, training, and empowering women and mothers from pregnancy onwards; and strengthening families and communities. All beneficiary families receive personalized support in their homes, through which family risk factors are identified, as well as their own strengths and resources that can be mobilized to achieve their goals. From there, interventions are planned to seek effective solutions to their problems regarding health, housing, basic services, income, and education.

Screens and early childhood

“Taking care of children's healthy development,” an initiative that seeks to train families, especially in vulnerable sectors, on the negative effects of early and excessive screen use in children aged 0 to 8. Through 20 in-person and virtual workshops in partnership with community spaces, clear and empathetic information, materials, and practical tools will be provided to encourage healthy device use, promote play, language development, creativity, and social interaction. The project, which includes follow-up and the participation of child health professionals, is part of Fainboim's broader work as digital citizenship coordinator at the La Salle Network and spokesperson for initiatives with UNICEF on digital well-being and online risk prevention.
