Stepping out of your comfort zone is also a business strategy.

Entrepreneurship doesn't always mean starting from scratch; often, it’s about transformation and adaptation. That was the case for Alfonso Entebi Yedid, CEO of Industrias Tebi, who chose to diversify his professional path by continuing to lead his family’s sock manufacturing business while successfully venturing into the healthy nutrition industry with the arrival of Oakberry in Mexico.

From his early days labeling socks in the family factory to steering the company through critical times, Alfonso faced major economic and personal challenges. Without a formal university degree, he had to learn everything about sales, adaptability, and decision-making in adverse scenarios to keep the company afloat.

In search of new growth opportunities, Alfonso found a strategic path in Oakberry, the Brazilian brand founded in 2016 and known for its açaí bowls. What began as a leap into the international franchise world has now become one of the brand’s most remarkable expansions in Latin America.

Although the healthy nutrition sector was entirely new to him, Alfonso’s handling of Oakberry’s expansion has been admirable. Since its launch in Mexico, he has positioned the brand impressively—opening new locations, connecting with consumers, and betting on a model that prioritizes natural, organic, and vegan products.

Oakberry closed 2024 with over 800 stores in 48 countries and global sales surpassing €200 million, but it’s thanks to leaders like Alfonso that the brand has achieved solid growth in key markets like Mexico.

In this episode of the podcast “¿Qué Sigue?”, Alfonso shares his story of resilience and his experience expanding a franchise. He talks about his most powerful lessons on leadership, how to spot real business opportunities, and why, sometimes, God decides the timing in business.
