In a world where 71% of young people believe their personal purpose should align with their social impact (McKinsey & Company, 2022), the concept of Tikun Olam—Hebrew for “repairing the world”—is more relevant than ever. This ancient Jewish principle reminds us that although we live in an imperfect world, each of us has the responsibility to act, using our unique talents and circumstances to build a more just, sustainable, and humane society.
Inspired by this vision, Deborah Apeloig, communicator and impact consultant, founded Tikun Talks, a platform that highlights the stories of individuals who are making the world a better place by living out their purpose. As the granddaughter of Holocaust survivors and with a career focused on social awareness through storytelling, Deborah created a space that honors the transformative power of purpose-driven narratives.
Tikun Talks aligns with a growing global trend: 92% of consumers prefer brands that share their values (Cone Communications), and 89% of employees seek purpose in their work (PwC). From intimate interviews to inspiring reflections, this platform delivers a clear message: we all have a story that can help repair a part of the world.
At ILAN – Israel Innovation Network, we share that same spirit: driving innovation with impact. That’s why we celebrate initiatives like Tikun Talks, which remind us that change starts with a conversation… and the decision to act.
